David Bottomley
Dr David Bottomley is Senior Physicist and a Part-Qualified Patent Attorney at Origin. He has a PhD in physics from the University of Toronto, Canada, an MBA from the University of Oxford, and has been accredited as a Chartered Physicist (CPhys) by the Institute of Physics, UK.
David spent seven years in Japan working in applied physics research in the areas of semiconductor fabrication and optics. This included three years at NTT Basic Research Laboratories, two years at Tohoku University, and two years at the Electrotechnical Laboratory (now part of the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology laboratories). He presented in Japanese at Japanese Society of Applied Physics meetings on seven occasions. He has co-authored over 50 refereed publications in applied physics research, and is the inventor of granted patent numbers US7744263B2 and CN100535688C.
David speaks French, Japanese and Italian.
